Can therapy help me?

Change always comes from within and therapy can be a powerful tool to help you gain clarity and understand yourself deeply. The type of therapy I offer is most effective when you are ready and motivated to make changes, including using suggested tools and techniques between sessions.

What type of therapy do you provide?

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and I provide a holistic approach to therapy based on my training, qualifications and experience.

I am trained in CBT hypnotherapy which is a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy.

I use a toolkit of different techniques and methods to provide a tailored approach for you, this may include:

  • Hypno-CBT: this is a blend of hypnosis and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
  • Hypnosis
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness and meditation
  • Relaxation techniques and breathing exercises.

I am also trained in Motivational Interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy and facilitation.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss before booking a session.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Choosing the right therapist is a personal decision. Research has shown that one of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist and so it is important you feel completely comfortable and safe.

Speaking with me (see contact page) or booking a pre-therapy session can be an important part of the process to see if we are a good fit. A good therapist will encourage you to make a decision that is right for you.

I work in/nearby Newcastle city centre - can I arrange lunchtime or after work sessions?

The therapy space is located conveniently in the heart of the city centre, therefore ideal for sessions that fit around your working day. Get in touch to make arrangements that fit for you.

I would like to book therapy but I don't know if I am experiencing stress or burnout. What should I do?

Stress and burnout are connected. If you are unsure which package is most suitable for you, please contact me or book a pre-therapy consultation session.

What are your professional values and principles?

  • I am person-centred and collaborative: this means your needs guide the therapy and that we agree the process together.
  • I am trauma-informed: I have a holistic perspective that acknowledges the mind, body and brain connection.
  • I work in accordance to the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) Code of Ethics including working in ways that will promote client autonomy and wellbeing and that maintain respect and dignity for the client.

Are you accredited?

I am a Registered Practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Register, an Accredited Practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. I am also registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) as a hypnotherapist.

The CNHC is approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament. This provides additional assurance that CNHC registrants meet UK-wide standards of patient safety and service quality.

I don't live in the UK. Can you still offer me therapy?

Of course. I provide online therapy sessions via GoogleMeet.

All you really need to consider is if your local timezone is suited to therapy sessions between 9-6pm GMT (UK time).

Please get in touch if you are unsure.
